Formatting

A note's body is Markdown. Each style below shows what to write and how a note page draws it.

Links

In the editor: Link.

Addresses starting with http://, https:// or www., and email addresses, become links by themselves.

[An example](https://example.com), www.example.com and hello@example.com

Tables

In the editor: Insert → Table.

A cell holds words and inline styles only: no lists, code blocks or pictures.

Images

In the editor: Insert → Upload image, Insert → Image Library.

Only pictures you uploaded are shown. A picture from anywhere else shows like this until you upload your own copy.

Everything else

Anything not listed here shows as the characters you typed.

==highlight==, $x^2$, H~2~O, [^1] and <u>underline</u>

==highlight==, $x^2$, H~2~O, [^1] and <u>underline</u>

From elsewhere

What comes in when you paste or import from Obsidian, an AI answer or a web page.

Wiki links

Links between Obsidian notes become their words.

See [[Weekly review]] and [[2026-09-28|last Monday]].

See Weekly review and last Monday.

Embedded pictures

An embedded picture becomes a box named sunset.png in the editor. Upload the picture there before publishing.

Math

Math in a line stays as the characters you typed. A formula on lines of its own becomes a code block. Formulas copied from an AI answer come in the same way.

Energy is $E = mc^2$.

$$
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
$$

Energy is $E = mc^2$.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Pictures from other sites

A picture in something you copy from a web page becomes a box asking for your own copy. It is never fetched from the other site, and the note can't be published until you upload a copy or remove it.

Line breaks

A single line break stays a line break, as in Obsidian.

Quoting a note

A line with nothing on it but a note's version address — the note's address followed by /v and a number — shows as a card.

To add one while writing, open ⋯ → Reference, pick a note, and press Quote.

An address without a version is an ordinary link.

https://linktw.com/SampleNote01/v3

Export and import

On a note page, ⋯ → Download .md saves the note as a file like this:

---
title: "What I learned shipping v1"
author: "Sample author"
source: https://linktw.com/SampleNote01/v3
version: 3
published: 2026-09-28
---
Three things went better than planned, and one went worse.

## What went well

- Shipping every week
- Writing things down

Import it with Insert → Import .md / .txt / .html. The properties between the two --- lines stay out of the body, and if the title is empty, the file's title fills it.
